The End is a Body Already

Rounding the river
I saw men and women tied
inside a skin
holding hands.

Their clothes flooded into open space
no color no form.

Outlines of bodies carried each other
to the beginning.
They walk to and from sound
light without color just vibrations
not felt, not thought
f l o a t in g
a disentangle of hair
blood waking unto itself.

A river is a body already
inside stillness
hands are feet
mouth eyes.

Under the river
nostrils burn swift cold
particles lay quiet and free.
Only the children
seem to notice - realize
We have all lived
and died already.

On my way home to visit my uncle nervous in a way  I wish he wasn't dying
