She furrows her brow. "The problem is, when I talk about heartbreak or whatever, people want to melt it down to some break-up of a relationship, but it's not about that. If you're a sensitive person, just stepping outside can be heartbreaking."

Workspace

I'm always fascinated by how artists and writers set up their studio/home space. Here's a little peak into where I work. I'll be really sad to leave my apartment soon, but moving on in life is so important ;(

Maybe This is Our Story (maybe not)

I went to Frick Park today to take photo's for painting references. I fell in love with a huge tree branch and ended up bringing it home for my show later this year. Hopefully there aren't too many creepy crawlers inhabiting it since it's in my living room now. People were very curious about what I was taking pictures of one lady thought it was fungus. Thanks for your help Jack and Bob! (So I guess bringing a large piece of wood into my living room has caused an outbreak of little ants lovely!)

Brian Jonestown Massacre

I've been watching these videos from Brian Jonestown Massacre all night and I seriously want to live inside this song. I've actually found myself quite emotional listening to the music. It sort of feels like being inside of memories that don't quite make sense. So beautiful.

Work in progress

Off the Wall Mailer

The best part about being a graphic designer is stumbling across your work printed and out in the world. It makes those all nighters filled with kerning and coffee worth it really. I spotted the Off the Wall mailer I did for the Andy Warhol museum at the library I frequent. It was a bit like seeing an old friend where you least expect it. See the full booklet here.
